Not at all. All of our experiences and coaching sessions are designed for beginners. We’ll guide you step by step, provide all equipment, if needed, and make sure you feel comfortable and confident from the start.

No. We provide all detectors, digging tools, and accessories for every experience and coaching session. If you already own a detector, you’re welcome to bring it — however, we ONLY train on Minelab products (Manticore, Equinox 800, X-Terra Elite)

​Private Coaching is designed to be a one-on-one experience.

Couples Detecting is designed to be an experience between the coach and the couple, with the couple then having free time to detect together.

Group Treasure Hunting is an experience designed for 3-4 participants but the experience has more flexibility.

So, anyone can be there on the beach, but the 'experience' is between the coach and the initial participants. Only the initial participants may handle the machines that are assigned to them. 

Yes. Participants handling the detectors must be 12 year of age or older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult - meaning the adult is either one of the participants or they remain near to oversee the experience with the kids.

Yes. The instruction is provided for individuals 12 years of age or older. We love kids, but don't recommend bringing younger children, as this may impact the experience.

Sessions take place on local beaches in the Myrtle Beach area. We select locations based on conditions, accessibility, your location, and the best opportunity for an enjoyable and successful experience. This will be discussed when you contact us.

We recommend:

• Comfortable clothing

• Closed-toe shoes or sandals

• Sunscreen

• Water

• A hat or sunglasses
   

We’ll take care of the detecting equipment — you just come ready to explore. You may bring your own equipment - just let us know ahead of time. We only provide instruction on the following Minelab machines: Manticore, Equinox 800, X-Terra Elite.

If weather or beach conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we’ll work with you to reschedule your session. Your experience and safety always come first.

Anything you personally recover during your experience is yours to keep. This includes any of the targets that Myrtle Metal hides in sand for you to find.

We understand that plans change. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. Refund and cancellation policies will be provided at the time of booking.

​Private Coaching is focused on learning and building real skills. These personalized one-on-one sessions are designed for beginners who want hands-on instruction, detailed guidance, and a deeper understanding of how to use a metal detector effectively. Coaching may include one participant only, and is ideal if your main goal is to learn the hobby and become confident detecting on your own.

Couples Detecting is designed as a guided experience focused on fun, connection, and discovery. We provide a brief introduction, set you up with the equipment, show you the basics, and then let you explore together at your own pace. We stay nearby to assist, offer tips, and help identify targets — but the main goal is to enjoy the experience, share the adventure, and create memories along the way. However, if the couple would prefer to have more of a private couples coaching session, that's perfectly fine, just let us know ahead of time and we'll create a custom experience.​
